Our balcony garden of saved and purposeful plants. Happy Sunday! ☀️🌱🌿💗😊#whywearevegan ******** For those following I continue to nurture the organic 🥑 tree Growing from a pit, given our current tiny space I have organic green onions sprouting up from seeds, a mysterious seedling in the larger purple pot, and I discovered some tenacious iris bulbs in our storage closet this week that had sprouted without water or sunlight (!) that are in the flat brown pot behind the 🥑. I am realizing just how much I enjoy nurturing a garden and understand why my grandmother’s flourishing garden was her daily sanctuary. #gardensofinstgram #gardensofig #plantbased #whatvegansdo #veganforlife #compassion #ilovemygarden ... Please support @boochaces and send your prayers and donations as you are so moved 🙏🏻❤️ Repost from @boochaces using @RepostRegramApp - Another update! I know. It's been hard to keep up with all of our hospitalized babies! We have two lambs at @newboltoncenter and we have our lovely little Dougie at @cornellvet! Pictured is the lamb that we witnessed get thrown against the ground and knocked unconscious. We were able to rescue him and another little boy who was trampled nearly to death by a stampede of terrified goats. Out of the two, the lamb who got slammed is in more critical condition than the one who got run over. He's showing signs of neurological issues. We aren't sure if it's due to trauma, an infection or a virus at this time. We didn't have too much hope for him but he's a dang fighter, folks. He was on medicine to keep the swelling in his brain down the first two days and he's slowly been weaned off of them. He's now stable without them! He's been given around the clock care by @newboltoncenter and will continue to receive everything he needs until he's better. The other little angel will also get whatever is necessary to keep him on the path to recovery. Keep routing for these two fozzy bears!!! Also, comment below with names of the most compassionate men you have ever known and why they've inspired you or lifted you up in life!!!! They need names instead of being called LAMB 1 & 2! ❤ (Photo by @sfisherx) ... See MoreSee Less

Keep your compassion donations—tax deductible—headed their way. Rescuers like @boochaces, @goatsofanarchy, @kindredspiritscarefarm @sandiegofarmanimalrescue, and others invest their lives and livelihoods in saving and improving the lives of fellow sentient beings. 💗 Repost from @boochaces using @RepostRegramApp - DOUGLAS FIR UPDATE: It has been 4 days since I decided to transfer Douglas from New Bolton to Cornell in the middle of the night. As most of you know, @afelice16 and I visited him on Monday and a wave of uncertainty took over my heart and mind. I knew he was bad but I had no idea how much he had deteriorated under New Bolton's care due to guessing games and experimenting. I attribute this to them not having much experience with calfs - due to people (clients) not wanting to invest any money in them. Cornell, on the other hand, had a lot of experience due to sanctuaries like Farm Sanctuary and @skylands_sanctuary utilizing their medical expertise over the years. I was told by New Bolton that he would most likely die on the car ride to Cornell. He didn't. Thanks to @reavegan and @vegandreadz getting him there safely. Douglas Fir is still in awful condition but is slowly improving at Cornell. Yesterday, he kept his head up all day long. It was the first day in a long time that he was aware of his surroundings! He is still on TPN therapy - which replaces all of the lost nutrients in his system, since he hasn't been eating. He is also on broad spectrum antibiotics. Cornell has been very cautious and gentle when it comes to our little guy and that's exactly what he needed and will continue to need. I am still waiting to hear from the doctor today but no news is GREAT news. Thank you all so much for your love, support and donations. We are already looking at $3,000 at Cornell - on top of the $6,000 from the last two months at New Bolton. You can make a tax deductible donation at anytime through PayPal: boochaces@aol.com / Venmo: boochaces / RanchoRelaxoNJ.org ... See MoreSee Less

Healing prayers and love to Douglas Fir and all those tending to him. If you’re looking to support those who are out their 24/7 making sure no life is spent suffering, please consider supporting @boochaces and her teams #whywearevegan ❤️❤️❤️ Repost from @boochaces using @RepostRegramApp - Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Last night, after visiting with Douglas Fir, I decided to transfer him to another hospital. I was apprehensive because the new hospital was 4 hours away. I was so scared but I just knew it was the right thing to do. A Hail Mary - last ditch effort. Please read my latest previous two posts before this one for more details. Anyway! He made the journey to the new hospital safe and sound thanks to @reavegan and @vegandreadz 🖤 I was urged not to take the risk by the hospital he was at previously because he would most likely die on the car ride over - but he did make it. He made it. Whether he pushes forward or continues to decline, at least I know I attempted to get a second opinion. He is a fighter. There is no denying that at all. Just to start at the new hospital, it will be approximately $2,000 - which is fine. He has made it this far and we have already spent so much. I, as well as our board members, believe the potential of him having a full life is worth the monetary cost. Thank you all for your encouraging words last night. Because of the livestock auction abuse I witnessed and coming to the realization that Douglas Fir was literally dying, I cried for hours. I barely slept. But.... he made the car ride. He did it. If you would like to donate to his NEW medical bills, PayPal boochaces@aol.com / Venmo boochaces / RanchoRelaxoNJ.org 🙏 ... See MoreSee Less

If you are looking for a way to contribute to saving and improving the lives of sentient beings who are otherwise voiceless and projected upon, please consider what you can do to help @boochaces and other rescues like them. There is no such thing as too much compassion. Please sharP🙏🏻💗🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻💗 Repost from @boochaces using @RepostRegramApp - Yesterday was a very trying day. @afelice16 @goatsofanarchy @sfisherx and I witnessed some of the most horrific animal abuse at any livestock auction ever. We saw pens filled with goats standing on top of dead goats. We witnessed adult sheep trampling and severely injuring or killing baby lambs because they were slower and could not keep up. We witnessed heads purposely being slammed in doors. We witnessed tumors, infections and prolapses in animals who would be slaughtered for meat within the week - mmm, pus and abscesses, yummy. We witnessed goats being grabbed by the horns and tossed to the ground with such ultimate force that they would get knocked out. We witnessed a dying goat scream every time another animal would step on his stomach - those were his final moments in this world. This is an auction that locally grown, "humane" farms drop their animals off at. Humane? Just stop with the excuses already. There is no such thing as humane slaughter. What we witnessed yesterday was slavery and the worst physical abuse imaginable. The little lamb on the left was trampled so badly that he had to be set aside because he was disoriented. The lamb on the right was picked up by his wool and thrown to the ground so hard that he became unconscious. Neither were able to legally run through the auction floor at the time. We made friends with slaughterhouse workers and farmers to save lives. We looked them in the eyes, laughed together, smiled. We broke bread with the enemy to save the innocent and that could very easily have been the hardest part of yesterday for me personally. We were very lucky to have been able to save these two babies as well as three others who went to @goatsofanarchy 🖤 At one point, we were accused of being animal rights activists by one of the auctioneers and our newfound farmer friends stuck up for... ... So glad for those on this planet who dedicate their lives to improving the lives of others.❤️ Repost from @blackjaguarwhitetiger using @RepostRegramApp - We have babies 🙂 Our Colombian rescue, La Chispa, had babies. They arrived with us on December 1st, meaning that she came pregnant. We don’t breed Animals here but nothing makes me happier than having grandkids. Obviously, the babies will remain with their mom so she can raise them. For those new here, we rescued our Colombian kids from a tragic circumstance after battling for more than a year the dark side of humanity (Scroll to see the pictures of how they lived before us). So boys and girls: We won again 🙂
Nuestra nena Colombiana, La Chispa, tuvo bebés.
